Apple TV now in Austria

Apple TV is now available in Austria and now I know what I want on my birthday :P I can’t wait to jailbreak it and watch movies on it. I also bought “Avatar” in iTunes. “Avatar” is now my 1st movie that I bought in iTunes and it’s really cool, but the English surround sound is broken. I’ll contact them if I can. It takes a little while to report an issue. Around 24 hours until I get the bill. After I get it, I’ll be able to report this issue. I’m very happy now. Finally Austria has movies and Apple TV :)

iOS 4.2 Voice Memos Icon

I submitted the theme to ModMyi, but it got rejected, because ModMyi doesn’t accept one icon themes. So I uploaded the zip file. Copy it to Library/Themes and select it in WinterBoard and respring. Then you will see the iOS 4.2 icon. If you use a theme which changes all icons included the Voice Memos icon, it will be normal. This doesn’t work with themes, that changes the icon. WinterBoard can’t replace 2 images for one icon of course.

I worked on this for 1 hour until I found the icon and resized it etc.. There are no keys for the iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2 so I couldn’t copy it from there and the root file system from the iPhone 3G/3Gs is uselsess, because it wouldn’t work on the iPhone 4 or it would be pixelated, but anyway it’s ready now and you can enjoy the iOS 4.2 icon feeling :)

Geohot is back

Geohot ist back, but his tools are still buggy and many people have problems. I had many issues with Blackra1n. I had 5 times a boot loop after I installed WinterBoard, a theme or a ringtone. Cydia didn’t show me “Go Back To Cydia”, but “Reboot iPhone”. At this poing I knew that my iPhone will go into a boot loop. Since then I only used the Pwnage Tool and on my iPhone 4 JailbreakMe. I will wait until I can use Greenpois0n and will jailbreak with this.

iOS 4 Multitasking BG 1.3 is now live!

iOS 4 Multitasking BG 1.3 is now live. It’s just a little update which adds support for FolderEnhancer. FolderEnhancer doesn’t use the FolderSwitcherBG. It uses a different image with the name “FEFolderBG.png”. If you want to make a FolderEnhancer background oder a theme with FolderEnhancer background support you have to make images with this name. For the iPhone 4 it is “FEFolderBG@2x.png”.

Have fun with the update and of course it’s also working on the iPhone 4 ;)

HDR/Game Center Enabler sounds good, doesn’t work at all

I’m very sorry for this bad mistake. I only have an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.1 and I couldn’t test the HDR/Game Center Enabler. I thought if multitasking and the battery percentage are working, this one will too, but it doesn’t. The files or the app aren’t on the firmware. You have copy it by yourself and this wouldn’t work too, because they need many other files which I don’t know, but anyway I can’t add Game Center to a repository, because it’s © by Apple. I know many people did that, but they hosted it on repositorys for cracks and they don’t mind if it’s legal or not.

I sent ModMyi and E-Mail to remove this package from Cydia. This package will disappear (I hope so) in the next 24 hours. Don’t be scared if you don’t see it anymore and don’t think it was just spam or a spyware package or something like that. It’s just not working and useless. Uninstall it via Cydia or use the SSH command “dpkg -r”.

I hope this won’t happen again and I’m very sorry for this useless package and the wasted time to get it working. Write spam mails or mails with swearwords, but I hope you won’t…there is only 1 thing I can say: I’m so sorry for this :(

HDR/GameCenter Enabler is online now

HDR /GameCenter Enabler is now online and available on the ModMyi Repository. It enables HDR pitures and/or GameCenter on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs. This package has 3 WinterBoard themes: One for HDR, one for Game Center and one for both. If you want to enable both, use the both option! Please don’t use HDR and GameCenter, because one of them won’t work.

Every theme has a N82AP.plist. WinterBoard doesn’t support 2 files at the same time, so only one of the N82AP.plists will be used and HDR or GameCenter won’t work. That’s why I made a theme for both.

I say theme, because it is like a theme and gets activated by WinterBoard. WinterBoard doesn’t really replace files it’s like a link. The images and files from the folder are used instead of the files and images of the iOS. That’s why WinterBoard is perfect for this things. If you would make a package which replaces this plists and you uninstall it, you will lose the real plists and the iPhone would get into a repsring loop.

That is the same reason why we are using Mobile Substrate. It doesn’t replace them and it doesn’t destroy the iOS.
